Harvard School of Dental Medicine Partners to Launch School in Rwanda

In 2011, the Harvard School of Dental Medicine collaborated with the University of Maryland and the University of Rwanda College of Medicine and Health Sciences to establish the first dental school in Rwanda. The new School of Dentistry exists within the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Rwanda. Rwanda’s population surpasses 12 million, yet as of 2018 fewer than 40 dentists were registered in the country. HSDM’s partnership works to increase that number and overall awareness of the importance of dental health.
